Crazy Client Stories

Submission:

A client begged me almost every day for her gallery and once I finally delivered it she raved about how much she loved the images and then her and her friends all blocked me on everything.

My point of view:

Honestly, when sometimes the submissions are short, I just have questions, like do we think that they blocked you because maybe they were altering the images or like doing things they shouldn’t be doing? Do you know what I mean? Or maybe the bride or someone was talking bad about you so she wanted to block you maybe? I don’t know what the reason is for blocking someone. I don’t know why you’d say hey I love the photos and then you’d literally block the person unless they were lying to you or talking about you like the only reason you go out of your way to intentionally block someone is if you feel like threatened by them in some sort of way. um especially like right after you just had communication with them like why what happened in the span of saying you love the photos to them blocking them, I don’t understand.

Crazy Client Stories

Submission:

This isn’t something that happened to me, but my aunt told me this and she is also a photographer… There was a wedding where no one could find the groom or his parents right before the ceremony and everyone was looking for them while the bride was freaking out. Someone eventually found the groom… he was in a storage closet with both of his parents, and he was breastfeeding from his mom. The bride then found out he had never stopped doing it since he was little and would do it when he was anxious or nervous. She called the wedding off right then!

My point of view:

Okay, guys first of all that’s really crazy! here’s my thing, I’ve heard this story before on other podcasts. So I don’t know if this is just one of those stories that like makes its way around and somehow makes its way onto my submissions . It’s a crazy submission, like it’s a crazy story. I just don’t know like how true it is or like, even like this person said this didn’t happened to me but my aunt told me this. Like we just don’t know, so crazy like disgusting weird but also, I just don’t know how true that story is but literally if it is true that is insane! And we’re going to see a common theme within some of these submissions and it’s like people calling things off or just like people being shady behind people’s backs, so we’ve got quite an episode get ready okay!

Crazy Client Stories

Submission:

You’re not ready for this. I’m not sure if this is PG LOL, I had a wedding a couple of months ago where I was doing groomsmen photos. After we do all the group pictures, I always like to get individual shots of the groom and his groomsmen. After we do one serious one, I always tell them to do a silly one just for fun!! Well… when I said, “Okay now a silly one!” … The groom turned his back to me, pulled his pants down, and completely mooned me😧. I quickly realized that what he was trying to do was show me his underwear that had the bride’s face on it. Needless to say, his underwear did NOT stay up. I was too stunned to take any pictures, thank God. I am not THAT kind of photographer. The worst part is that later that day when we were doing pictures with guests, he wanted to do more funny pictures and continued to pull his pants down and show me his underwear. Thankfully, I did not see his bear rear end again.

My point of view:

why does this feel weirdly familiar? Oh, you know what. I had a wedding where it was like Charlie was taking photos of all the groomsmen but all the groomsmen pull their pants down, I don’t remember if they mooned or like just showed their underwear but still, I don’t know what it is about. This feels way more familiar than it should, like I literally cannot imagine trying to show someone my underwear for a photo let alone accidentally not showing them my underwear like you’d feel that, if you were the groom and you meant to just show your underwear you’d feel that breeze, you know what I mean? you’d feel that you are double cheeked out right now like I feel you’d be able to feel that would you not?

Crazy Client Stories

Submission:

7 months prego and went to the bathroom. I had the dad of groom get mad at me and say I missed a core memory and that I should be doing my job… they were talking in a circle. He continued to follow me and make sure I didn’t go to the bathroom again.

My point of view:

Awesome so we’re not allowed to be human? Cool and why do I kind of doubt that you missed a core memory? I feel like as photographers we know when we can use the bathroom. We know when it’s a good time and when it’s a bad time. I’m sure some people go to the bathroom at a bad time on purpose, but if you actually care about your career and you care about making your clients happy, you’re not going to go to the bathroom at a bad time. Why do I feel like this time was during dinner or something? Like really you did not need to be present and here’s the thing with weddings and photographing weddings the whole day is kind of a big deal right? The whole day is a big deal everything that happens is a big deal. But as a photographer, you need to pick and choose what’s the big biggest deal! What things are like the big things that you need photographed? Everything is obviously a big deal. But what’s the biggest deal like, is that quick brief little moment at the sweetheart table where you both open a secret present with each other is that the biggest deal or is the biggest deal oh I don’t know your first dance? Like I don’t know you have to pick and choose and like obviously as a photographer we try to capture it all but there’s literally no way to capture 100% everything unless you’re literally holding down the shutter for the entire day and you’re not missing a single thing and you’re basically live streaming.

Crazy Client Stories

Submission:

Brought her sugar daddy to her boudoir session without permission. He just sat and watched the whole time, and it was very uncomfortable for me.

My point of view:

Bye lol, I’m so sorry, what? Okay it’s the sitting and watching for me. You can have a sugar daddy do what you want. But sitting and watching like having an audience is weird, that’s just weird. And I think what’s weird is without your permission, I think if this person came to you was like hey, can I bring someone to my session with me? That would be much better than just like them just showing up!

Crazy Client Stories:

Submission:

A client didn’t like the outfit she wore to her shoot. So she asked me if I could photoshop her entire outfit in Every. Single. Photo. Then when I said that wasn’t do-able, she said she wouldn’t be using any of the photos and was “severely disappointed”.

My point of view:

This is another person that just has the audacity because, you WOREE that to a shoot! Like you’re aware that what you’re wearing is what you’re going to be photographed in right? Like that’s kind of how it works like it’s not just magic like Photoshop isn’t just easy. Can I just say like when someone emails you and they’re like hey, can you photoshop this? I don’t think you understand how much work Photoshop is first of all, we don’t edit in Photoshop. We edit in another app we edit in Lightroom. Which you got to take it from Lightroom into Photoshop which is a whole thing in itself. Like photoshop got to load, got to buffer then you got to like to export the edit and then bring the edit into Photoshop. So there’s like a whole thing so you got to leave your current editing platform not only that it’s not easy to photoshop stuff out like Photoshop an entire outfit are you kidding me??? Like I don’t even know we’ve got AI don’t even know if I would like to do a good job at that and how would you get it to be able to do it consistently. Like AI cannot consistently do the same outfit over and over again all I got to say is that’s not going to fly and the fact that they were quote severely disappointed just shows that they didn’t have good expectations to begin with!
